IGC (Ishkama Global CIC) held their Diwali fundraiser in the Nayland Village Hall, Colchester. It was the result of months of dedication put in by the IGC Chairs and Organisers, Dr. Minakshi Koch, Latha Balne, Sakshi Kasurde and Padma Swetha Kolishety, along with IGC Volunteers- Anuradha Kolluru, Manjulatha Gajula, Gayatri Kondapalli , Himabindu Kaparthi, Aruna Kumari Kakaraparthi and Harini Prata. The dedicated team also comprised of Dr. Rinki Sharma for IT and Social Media, MC’s Kirthika Nesa and Om Joshi, Photographers Vishnu Kaparthi and Vishnu Ram Sowmian, Caterers Renita and Rosita Mascarenhas (IGC Volunteers) with Music/ lights by Adarsh Kurian.

Amongst the Chief Guests were IGC Chairs Dr.Olayinka Uadiale, Ajay Devalia, Nimi David-Michael along with Cllr. Martin Goss, David Winter, Chandni Vikram, Jai Prakash, Chairman of Colchester Indian Association , and Dhanalakshmi Kadari.
Ishkama Global CIC was founded by Dr. Abhnash K Bains, for uniting a diverse community dedicated to personal growth, community impact, and celebrating remarkable people making a difference. She has served the Lions International for over a decade and is a Lions Past District Governor. In IGC unity sparks positive change, personal growth flourishes, and the impact is felt globally.
IGC aims for global impact, championing international peace, understanding, and gender equality. IGC offers a secure environment for inclusion, economic and social empowerment, and strives to diminish gender disparities within this decade.
This Diwali event was organised with the intention of raising funds for causes that have been supported by IGC Chairs in the year 2024. With the winters approaching, many people will be struggling to meet basic needs. All the funds raised through this event will go directly to charities, making a meaningful difference.
The event gave a platform for women and teens to showcase their talents and build their confidence. This gave an opportunity for women to step out of their work and homes and make connections. This uplifted their mood and made a positive impact on their mental health and well being.
All contestants are to feature in the IGC Magazine and have an exclusive interview with Global Talent Solutions with Dr. Jaya Sajnani to boost their profiles. There were 10 beauty titles for the winners, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition there were a variety of stalls for shoes, food, clothes, and more along with a buffet lunch and high tea towards the end of the event.
There were several sponsors who found the event worthwhile and made generous contributions. The causes we will be donating towards.
- SUPPORT OUR PARAS, UK is the only charity which exists solely to support The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces, looking after veterans, serving soldiers and families within our Airborne community. They are there for our nation’s paratroopers through the good times and the bad.
They provide welfare assistance to veterans, serving soldiers and families to complement or fill the gaps in State provision. This support includes, but is not limited to, covering travel costs for a serving soldier whose child is in the hospital; buying new household goods for families who are struggling; contributing towards funeral costs; sending Christmas hampers to their veterans and widows in need. - St Helena Hospice is a Colchester based charity which provides specialist palliative and end of life care to local people facing incurable illness in north east Essex, supporting them, their families, friends and carers.
They provide individual care and total support wherever it is needed; at home, over the phone with 24/7 advice line, and at the hospice.
They also help adults in north Essex to cope with grief following the death of a loved one, regardless of where or how they died.
They reach out to members of our community, helping them make their own choices and live with dignity. By focusing on their physical, emotional and spiritual needs, they aim to bring comfort and relief to all those who need it, offering the people of north east Essex individual care and total support, regardless of their diagnosis or personal circumstances.
3.Hitaishi, India- 10 month old baby girl diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1—the most severe form of the disease—is in dire need of a life-saving gene therapy drug, Zolgensma. The total cost of the drug is $2 million. - Christmas with Hope 2024- Hope Raisers Global Foundation, Nigeria
An initiative to give Hope to the dsadvantaged @ Christmas. They aim at feeding 1850 households this Christmas.
5.ARESOC- Les Reparateurs (One for one Child), France is an orphanage by Tabita Makoko who was an orphan herself. We aim to donate for their stationery items and other educational supplies. - Tahreem, Pakistan-An autistic child Who needs ongoing therapy. Born to a very poor family, Tahreem has no hopes of getting a therapy or any medication. We need to help her family to support her medical needs.
- SAFE- Sibsagar Autism Friendly Emphasis, India
In one of the remote parts of India, there is lack of awareness and early intervention for autistic children. The parents have to take their children to distant cities for a diagnosis only to be left helpless later. SAFE aims to provide an affordable place where they can receive early intervention for autistic children and awareness in the society. It is an IGC sister project which needs to now cater to the children below poverty line.
There were dance performances from Flytoes Dance Academy by FDC performers Raanav Nesa, Sanjana Rajesh, Sancia Chimmen,
Shree Thanvi Kolisetty, Abhishta Kodam, Daanya Jagadeesh, Aarav Pangam and Manvi Kandula.
The winners were decided by Judges Dr. Angela Soong, Leticia Moshwe, Emily Kendall and Reenu Gupta. It was a tough competition as all the contestants were unique and accomplished in their respective fields.
